“THERE ARE NO FREE LUNCHES!”

Results from Laura Moncur's Motivational Quotations:

There ain't no free lunches in this country. And don't go spending your whole life commiserating that you got raw deals. You've got to say, 'I think that if I keep working at this and want it bad enough I can have it.'

Lee Iacocca (1924 - )

Results from Rand Lindsly's Quotations:

There is no free lunch.

Milton Friedman (1912 - 2006)

The reason for making this information stressed is that one needs to be careful of Internet offers of FREE or NO OBLIGATION.  The free information in many cases is just the invitation to get the pitch.  You will find at prweb.com a FREE offer, which is subscription to the sales contract for a magazine where you may or may not get a chance to speak with a possible contact.

“BEWARE OF GREEKS BEARING GIFTS.”

Origin

An allusion to the story of the wooden horse of Troy used by the Greeks to trick their way into the city. It is recorded in Virgil's Aeneid, Book 2, 19 BC:

"Do not trust the horse, Trojans. Whatever it is, I fear the Greeks even when they bring gifts."

If you believe the snake oil your purse will be light; but on your own with effort you can be in control of your own Internet destiny.

The point of this Blog page is that with your own effort in your own market, you should develop the reputation as “a local authority” and present in writing or phone to the local radio/TV stations your credentials and let them know that should they ever have the opportunity to discuss your specialty on the air that you would be ever so willing.  Some individuals purchase their own radio time and get sponsors to get their message across.

TIP

#14         Manners do count on the Internet.

         Don’t plagiarize

         Don’t copy without permission

Respond to those who respond to your Blog without mentioning you own website.

#15         Don’t cost others money when it isn’t necessary.

If you use a search engine to fine information type in the URL rather than clicking on it when it is presented as a sponsor, advertiser, or any such heading.  Take a moment and click the URL into the address bar.  It is particularly bad manners and can lead to legal action should you repeatedly click on a competitor’s URL.

#17         IF YOU DO CLICK ON YOUR COMPEITORS GOOGLE OR SIMILAR ADVETISEMENT YOU COULD GET KICKED OFF OF GOOGLE ADSENSE PROGRAM.

Set aside a few minutes and read the Adsense publisher terms & conditions.  Don’t be the next individual to post how you were kicked out of the Adsense program "for no reason".
