The Effects of Light & Color are important in your choice of colors as well as the reflected color from your hanging lights!
We consider the source of the light in each room when considering the color and sheen, which we suggest. There is a great difference as to the time of day when, if there is direct light that it enters the room.
A room that has its source of light coming from the east and receives strong sunlight in the early morning will look very different when next seen late at night in artificial lighting.
A room that gets its direct light from the west has a warm glow in the evening can look dull in the mornings.
Any room with creative lighting and color scheming can be made to feel welcoming and attractive.
The style of house you
live in can also make a great deal of difference to the amount of available
light in an interior. Large open
homes with large picture windows are even more effected by seasonal changes.
In 7th
grade we learned that color changes because the light waves get shorter and
night and thus a deepening of the color.
The same color on the
ceiling will appear darker. May I
suggest an idea, which I don’t think one would have ever tried; instead of
putting a color sample on the wall put the color sample on a sample board and
move the board to different positions on the floor.
