Information on Installing Chair rails!
Chair rail along wall can end
several ways
Chair rails are not only functional, but is decorative.
Installed at a height of 32 to 36 inches, they will protect walls from damage
and add a touch of colonial or traditional detail.
Installing the chair rail is fairly simple, yet it dresses up a
room noticeably. How you finish the chair rail will depend upon whether your
door has a frame or casing.
Not every piece of molding joins another. There are several ways
that you can address the exposed end. One is to leave a square cut. This works
best when the molding joins a doorframe or casing. Another option suitable for
an open entry is to cut a 45-degree angle across the exposed edge. This will
help create a finished look by "beveling" the edge of your chair rail
from the front edge of the chair rail to the edge of your doorway.
You have the choices of using
wallpaper, 2 colors, or same
Color for decorative treatment.
